Everyone knows that Fight Club was a 1999 movie with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton but some may not know that it was based on a 1996 book by Chuck Palahniuk. Although I think David Fincher did a excellent job adapting the book into a movie, the book was better especially the ending.

Fight Club is a story of a guy completely changing his life from humdrum to the action packed lifestyle he dreamed of. It has been a major influence in the seduction community. Tyler Durden from RSD is named after one of the lead characters and Project Hollywood from The Game is a take on Project Mayhem from the book.

Chuck has published eight other fictional books yet none of them were brought to the big screen until now…

On September 26th Fox Search Light releases “Choke” based on Chuck’s book by the same name.

This movie is going to be a lot different than Fight Club in many ways and similar in others.

The movie is considered a dark comedy and it is quiet apparent by the following trailer for the film…

This is just the “green” trailer. I also saw the “red” trailer which was full of nudity and sex. I like it!

The book is about a con artist who is also a sex addict. Chuck conducted research by setting in on sexual addiction groups. Help groups, that sounds a bit like Fight Club to me.

I put Chuck up there with Bret Easton Ellis and George Orwell in regards to worthwhile fiction to read.

If you get the chance I recommend getting some of his books. People overall tend to recommend Fight Club, Choke, Survivor and Invisible Monsters.

One final tidbit that I found interesting for no reason, Chuck is gay. Bret Easton Ellis, author of American Psycho and The Rules of Attraction, is bisexual.
