Here’s my good friend David Wygant giving an example of a pickup routine that he does with his dog…

How To Train Your Dog As A Prop To Meet Women

This is one of the 20 openers David provides in his new program “20 Ways to Meet Hotter Women, WITHOUT Pickup Lines“.

I don’t mind this opener. Basically he is just fake complaining about his dog in an absurd manner by giving it human like characteristics. I admit I kind of got a chuckle when he said the dog hogs the internet. It is light hearted, amusing and kick starts the interaction which is all that you are really after with an opener.

David Wygant has made numerous blog posts and videos bad mouthing routine game and the pickup community as a whole in order to promote this product. He particularly slams canned routines and pickup lines and suggests instead being “natural”…

But I have to ask… how is this canned routine any different?!?

Here’s my interpretation of how these natural game gurus spend their time…

40% - bashing routine game
20% - giving their own canned openers, examples of peacocking and negging
40% - defending how their material is “different” than what is taught by routine based gurus

The same with Stephen Nash and his dog

He claims you should get a dog to attract women instead of using magic tricks.

What the hell is the difference?!?

You are both using props and routines to build attraction!

Yea… its a good opener… but that is exactly what it is… an opener.

Anytime your using something you’ve used before it is a routine.

It is funny how these guys bash routines/openers and then still use them.

The truth is any good player.. uses a mix of routines and spontaneous convo…

but that goes for guys who have never even studied game or heard of Neil Strauss..

there is nothing wrong with using something over and over if it workss….

I think the slight difference is that Wyngant is using a routine that he made up and involves his dogs… and his sense of humor.

I do find that a little more natural than using a routine someone else’s “what 80s pop duo should i name my dogs”

Great comment Rio, but I have a problem with your logic at the end…

Neil Strauss came up with the flossing opener…

He told it to his students and then everyone was using the flossing opener.

David Wygant came up with this dog opener…

He told it to his students and now everyone with a dog is going to copy his dog opener.

It is 100% the same thing!!!

Guru comes up with original opener, tells it to students, students beat the opener to death like a bad David Wygant word-pun!

In theory both the flossing opener or 80’s pop duo dog name opener or David’s opener here are just EXAMPLES for students but we all know people are unoriginal and want to use the tried and tested rather than risk coming up with something themselves that isn’t guaranteed to work.

    People are lazy…

    Shit, I’m lazy!

You misunderstood me… If guys go out and use this same opener its bullshit…

If guys look at this and realize that anything can be an opener than it works…

If David is telling his students to use this routine then he is indeed preaching routine game…

If he’s using this as an example of how to develop your own routines… then I feel its a bit more natural

Here’s a description of another opener that is in his product:

“the “tic tac toe” approach – find out how a freezer door can be the best way to meet a woman in a grocery store ”

Sure sounds like a canned routine that he is telling his students to use! He even gives them names like the routine gurus used to do.

I personally don’t care if you tell the student to do a canned routine or if you give them one and tell them it is strictly an example and they should come up with their own. That’s just a technicality. 99% of the time the result is going to be the same in both cases; the student is going to use that canned routine word for word.

I think Neil Strauss touched on this in regards to his flossing opener. He said he created it based upon a bet that he could create an opener about any subject. Then everyone started using it and his point about how easy it is to create original openers got completely ignored.

Completely true… but who’s fault is that? the teachers or the students?

We just talked about this last night in our radio show.. if guys can’t come up with their own life experiences and interests to open women.. they have a bigger problem then just not getting pussy.
