Ferris Bueller’s Day Off came out in theaters exactly 25 years ago…

Growing up, Ferris Bueller was my definition of “cool”…

His was liked by characters in the movie and by movie watchers alike…

So what was it about Ferris that attracted women and friends to him?

Here’s my top 5 things that made Ferris so likable…

1.) Fun

- Ferris was playful and humorous.

2.) Took Risks

- The audience got the impression that a day spent with Ferris would be an adventure.

3.) Stereotype neutral

- Much of John Hughes movies were about high school stereotypes. But what category would you throw Ferris in? He fit in across the board. Like the principal’s secretary said, Ferris was deemed a “righteous dude” by all the sportos, motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies and dickheads.

4.) Positive

- Next to Cameron, it’s easy to see how positive and worry-free Ferris is. No one likes to be around a “Debbie Downer”.

5.) Outgoing

From helping others get out of summer school… to introducing himself to bikini girls even while the pressure is on… Ferris is the ultimate extravert.

Here’s a video of the legendary “chase sequence” towards the end…

My favorite part is when he frantically runs by the sunbathing girls and then calmly goes back to introduce himself to them…

Sure, Ferris had some negative things about him…

He was a bit of slacker and was very manipulative with Cameron…

But all-in-all, there’s a lot to be learned from Ferris if you ask me…

Especially in regards to being “alpha” and social.

It’s casual,
