Have you ever considered online dating?

I have a friend who visited me a few weeks ago and for the summer all of his dates and relationships came from using Match.com. This blew me away.

We went out that night and I introduced him to pick up. He left that weekend saying that he needs to make meeting women in person his top priority and keep online dating as a less vital tool on the side.

This made me think. Why have I never used online dating? Everyone I know who is single is doing it and even some who aren’t. I could always use another tool to meet women.

The answer is that I’m bullheaded and narrow-minded. I have always had this preconceived notion that online dating is for losers. I picture the majority of the women on these sites as unattractive and psychotic. This is even after hearing some of my cool and attractive female friends talk about using dating sites. My friend that I mentioned before is honest and has higher standards than me. I’ve listened to him brag to me about some of the women he has hooked up with from online dating.

I’ve thought of these sites as a waste of time for someone like me who is going out and meeting new women consistently several times a week. The reality is that it really doesn’t take that long to do. You just need to spend an hour to make a profile and send and respond to messages. It is like going ice fishing and setting up tip-ups and then going into the shack and drinking beer while the tip-ups do the work.

Even if I have no luck with it I will only lose a few dollars and a few hours that I would probably waste on booze or watching nut shot videos on YouTube. Hell, some of the sites that I list below even have free trial memberships so I wouldn’t even have to spend a dime to try them out. At the least it would help me learn more about interacting with women using the internet.

If you want to try it too, here are some links to various online dating sites:

  • Match.com - the one almost everyone I know uses. Click on this special link to try it 7 days for free.
  • Date.com - sign up with this link and get a free 3-day Gold Membership.
  • Chemistry - Match.com’s less tedious take on eHarmony. Create a free profile by clicking on this link!

Try one out and let me know if you have any luck and I’ll do the same.
