Matt Savage followed up by mentioning that Joe D. has been making videos for Vlaze.com.
Vlaze.com is your basic MySpace clone. It integrates social networking with videos. The exception is that most of the videos are produced internally rather than user generated.
Joe D. is the host of a “channel” called Get Women Today. The videos are of Joe regurgitating Mystery Method concepts and ideas in front of a green screened club background while a R&B song plays continuously in the background (I find such background music annoying).
In my opinion Joe D. was one of the more likable and honest contestants on the show. I was rooting for him to beat the ringers. That being said, these videos aren’t very original.
The one video that is of his own origin is a field report. It is titled “Threesome?” and can be seen below:
You can read a description of the video here.
I must confess I’m not a fan of field and lay reports.
I think Joe D.’s field report is an excellent example why.
There was no steps of seduction on his part
An on screen message defined a field report as “a real life example of seduction”. Where the hell was the example of seduction in this field report???
He came in to the room to find his roommate having sex. He went into the bathroom to sleep and the girl came in to piss and she propositioned him. There’s no recount of him even saying one word to her.
There’s nothing for a reader to learn from it. It isn’t particularly engrossing or entertaining for that matter either.
He won’t tell us the ending to the story
Imagine that you went to a movie and sat through a hour and fifteen minutes of lead-up to finally get to the climax and got a blank black screen with the text “make up your own ending” and it goes to credits. You would be pissed off like I was with this field report.
One can only assume it happened or he wouldn’t have brought it up. On the other hand it is also possible that he got the hell out of there…ran home, and whacked off (taken from “Risky Business”).
When I was an AFC I was an expert at eluding to debauchery when in reality nothing actually happened.
I’m also not a fan of namedropping a wing in such a field report. I sure hope he had Kosmo’s blessing. It is pretty obvious he did it for social proof since Kosmo was the winner of the show.
I’m also not an advocate of a guy calling two guys and one girl a threesome. I mentioned this in my previous post.
If I was him I would have reworded the following statement:
“Did I accept her offer for some kinky fun with my best friend?”
I think that the field report that Joe should have gave was on what HE was doing BEFORE he came back to the room at 5:30am. It might have not been as “sensational” but it would have been more insightful.
So to answer the question that is proposed in the title:
