Get more sleep and consume less caffeine

I believe sleep deprivation and poor sleeping habits create a domino effect that kills your production and salts your game.

Many times I piss around at night and do not get to bed until 1 or 2 am.  I then have to wake up at 7 am and I’m so tired and sluggish that I start chugging Red Bull and coffee.  That gets me going but after lunch I crash and feel like a glob of crap.

Many times when Friday comes I’m so tired that I do not want to go out.  When I get dragged out by a friend I lack energy and quick wit.

Last night I knew I had a lot of work to do and should go out sarging for a bit.  I was so tired I did not want to get off the couch and do anything other than watch TV.  I got fed up with myself and decided to go to bed.  I slept from 9pm until 7am.  I woke up this morning and had the most productive day in some time.

My mind was sharp and I was full of energy.  I didn’t find the need to consume any caffeinated beverages.  After lunch I did not feel the crash from coming off of a caffeine buzz.

I plan to sleep at least eight hours each night for a week and see if it has a continuing effect on my life.  This will effect my midweek bar nights but I think in the long run it will be better for my job and personal life.
