Here’s a video of Owen Cook AKA Tyler Durden PUA of Real Social Dynamics (RSD)…

In it, he talks about how to approach women on the street…

Watch it and then check out my comments about it below…

I found this video fascinating…

I loved Tyler’s energy… he did an excellent job overall of delivering his commentary off the cuff…

But I did have some issues with it…

Here’s more of my opinions about the video…

Talk Slower

It’s obvious that Owen is incredibly passionate about the subject…

But… slow… the… fuck… down… buddy…

You come off overly excited and high strung…

It’s a bad example for students…

Anxious people talk fast…

When talking to others, be self-aware…

Talking slower will make you appear more confident and in-control…

Plus, they’ll be able to understand and absorb what you are saying better…

I know that it’s common to talk fast in YouTube videos… viewers have short attention spans…

But if you’re going to talk a thousand words per minute, it is self-defeating if you (see next point below)…

Less Is More

This video was 13 minutes long… it should have been no more than 5…

Owen regurgitated certain points over and over again…

He was like a 33 1/3 rpm record being played at 78 rpm… and constantly skipping….

Less is more…

That’s one thing I learned in this social media age where everything needs to be 140 characters or less…

K.I.S.S… Keep It Simple Stupid…

People want to get your ideas without having to read a novel or watch a 3-hour documentary…

Half-Assed Approaches… WTF?!

I enjoyed what Tyler said… but I didn’t understand certain points he was trying to make…

Here’s the title of the video…

Tyler’s Street Game Revealed - ANYTHING Works! Do NOT Open Half Hearted! Own WHATEVER It Is You

Here’s the text below the video…

Tyler of RSD Nation reveals “how to open on the street” and more importantly how NOT to open in the street. Absolutely anything can work but you MUST be clear and decisive in whatever it is that you do. Use common sense and take ownership of see the girl with your own eyes, not through a veil of tactics you learned online. They are the maps, not the territory.

What the fuck does “own what you do” and “take ownership” mean in the context of approaching?

It seems like a bunch of tired self-help rhetoric to me…

I think when it comes to approaching women, the key is to simply be anxiety-free and fun…

It doesn’t matter if you approach from the side, back, front, direct or indirect…

What matters is that you are relaxed, confident and provide an engaging dialogue…

That might not be enough to build attraction…

But it’s a damn good start…

Don’t Reward Bad Behavior

I like the way Tyler dealt with the douche who photobombed him…

He went the Tom Cruise water squirt route and hit him with the “what possessed you to do something so douche-worthy?”…

The dude started backpedaling immediately…

It’s so critical that you don’t accept, or even worse, reward bad behavior from others…

If someone pulls shit on you, make sure you let them know it’s unacceptable in the most effective and eloquent way possible…

Tyler did a great job doing this… but I don’t think I would have done all the “bro embracing” and all those dopey handshakes and shit… that’s a bit too much like rewarding the dude if you ask me…

…and he really slipped up at the end…

Don’t Judge

The shit about cigarettes and being overweight “killing you” was total bullshit to add in at the end…

I don’t give a fuck if you only eat grass and drink milk… EVERYONE does things that are “unhealthy” in their lifestyle…

No one likes a pretentious asshole who points out others’ shortcomings…

That’s probably why I’m so hated ;-)

Don’t Take Risks That Have No Reward

Don’t call guys who are bigger than you “fat” if there is NOTHING to gain by it…

The key to being good socially is having the ability to quickly assess the “risk vs reward” of your actions before doing them…

You do have to push the envelope socially… or otherwise you will come off boring and not build attraction…

But you have to use “calculated risks”…

In this case, it seems like Tyler might of been playing it up for the camera…

But in real life, I would advise you to tread delicately around big drunk guys who appear to be going home without any pussy…

They tend to not like getting their belly’s rubbed or getting lectured by random dudes…

Selective Jump Cuts

I found how Tyler handled the photobomber interesting… but why jumpcut right after the interaction?

If you are going to make a jumpcut, why not remove the interruption entirely?

I can only imagine he was PROUD of how he handled it…

Also… what’s the deal with his hook-up?

We get to see and hear him slurping on some girls and attempt to “pull”…

How did he approach them?

Did he meet them earlier?

Why make a video about approaching girls on the street and then remove the example of a good approach?

When something is purposely omitted…. I assume the worst…

Always Obstruct Faces Of Approached Girls

People can call “pick-up artists” creepy…

They can also imply that stuff like “negging” is unethical to women…

That’s debatable…

But what’s NOT debatable is shooting video of women and posting it on YouTube without first getting their consent or obstructing their faces…

It’s a violation of a person’s privacy and makes us all look bad…

It annoys the fuck out of me when assholes like David Wygant do this shit

I have to commend people like Tyler and Mehow for blurring or blocking out the faces of girls they approach…

It’s the right thing to do…

That Concludes My 2-Cents
